TULLAHOMA, Tenn. – The role of Tullahoma, Tenn., in the Civil War will be reviewed Saturday at a seminar in the city.
The Dr. J.B. Cowan Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans is sponsoring a series of speakers who will discuss the Tullahoma Campaign of 1863.
According to historical accounts, the Middle Tennessee city was the headquarters for the Confederate Army of Tennessee. The campaign marked a turning point when the South lost manpower, agricultural staples, the industrial base of the region and the Chattanooga railroad center. The campaign has been overshadowed by simultaneous events in Gettysburg and Vicksburg.
The seminar, open to the public, will be at the Tullahoma Events Center.
