Morristown West’s DeAndre’ Delaney, who had previously committed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football program, flipped to Wake Forest on Monday.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound running back/defensive back, who projects to play safety for the Demon Deacons, had been committed to the Mocs since October. All commitments are non-binding until National Signing Day in February.

“I’d like to thank the UTC coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to play football at such a distinctive and winning program. But after praying and discussion I have decided to attend and play football at another prestigious school of my choice,” Delaney posted on his Twitter feed.

Delaney had 1,863 yards rushing, 377 receiving and 26 total touchdowns during his senior campaign. His de-commitment comes on the same day that former Missouri wide receiver Thomas Richard committed to UTC, and leaves the Mocs with nine players committed for the 2016 signing class.
