A person perished early Sunday in a single-car accident after the vehicle crashed and burst into flames on U.S. Highway 27 at state Highway 111.
The crashed happened at 2:18 a.m. Sunday on Highway 27 under the Highway 111 overpass, Soddy-Daisy Police Department Capt. Jeff Gann said in a statement.
Upon arrival, police confirmed the car to be driven by one person and determined that speed was a contributing factor in the crash, Gann said.
The victim’s identity is being withheld until notification of next of kin, Gann said.
