Snow expected Monday

More snow is expected Monday to follow today’s rainy weather, according to WTVC NewsChannel 9 forecaster Allison Chinchar.

Today the city and most of its surrounding areas mainly will see rain, she said, but higher elevations might begin to receive some snowfall.

“For most places, snow won’t be a concern until Monday,” Ms. Chinchar said.

Today’s temperatures in the lower 40s will be followed by below-freezing temperatures Monday, she said. Monday’s high temperature in the upper 30s will be overnight, and temperatures will fall as the day goes on.

“Once we get to the afternoon, it will be well below freezing,” Ms. Chinchar said. “And once it changes into snow, it should stay snow.”
