Staff Report
The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man suspected of using deception to rob several Cracker Barrels in the area.
The suspect, who is described as a black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and ball cap, is believed to have stolen about $100 from a Dalton Cracker Barrel cashier by using deception, said Whitfield County Sheriff’s spokesman Rick Swiney.
The man asked for change multiple times until he ended up with $100 more than he started with, Swiney said.
Police also believe the man visited the Cracker Barrel in East Ridge and several surrounding stores, using the same method to rob the cashiers, he said.
Anyone with information or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detective Britney McMillan at the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office at 706-278-3029.
