Alabama authorities have made an arrest in the murder of 45-year-old Anna Grogan Brown, who was found shot to death in Jackson County on Monday.
Eric Scott, 36, of Hollywood, Alabama has been arrested and charged in connection to the murder, according to a news release.
Shortly after 2:35 p.m. on Monday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a person shot at a residence on County Road 36. Upon arrival, deputies deployed tear gas into the residence due to Scott’s unwillingness to comply, the release states.
Officials found the body of the victim at the residence, who was later pronounced dead on the scene by the Jackson County Coroner and identified as Brown. Scott was transported to the Jackson County Jail and booked without incident.
