A Rhea County hero was honored recently during the County Commission meeting. Rick McMillan was presented a plaque by Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Officers Burton Capps and Brian Letnew, recognizing his actions in December in rescuing four hunters after their boat capsized on the Tennessee River. Despite the possibility of overloading his fishing boat, he carried the four to shore and got further help for them. Congratulations, Mr. McMillan.
The Rhea County Domestic Violence Council will offer a free support group for victims of domestic violence beginning Feb. 4. Call 775-4514 to register.
