Fifty characters from 16 Disney stories make for a stadium-size party at “Disney On Ice Presents Let’s Celebrate,” which offers seven performances over the next four days at UTC’s McKenzie Arena.

The ice-skating extravaganza features a magical montage of celebrations, holidays and festivals from around the globe set to a blend of contemporary music and favorite Disney songs.

Audiences will join Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy on a tour to celebrate a Halloween haunt with the Disney villains; a Very Merry Unbirthday Party with Alice and the Mad Hatter; Mardi Gras with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen; a Valentine’s Day royal ball with the Disney princesses; a Hawaiian luau with Lilo and Stitch and a winter wonderland with Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear. They’ll also travel to far-off exotic places including China for the Chinese New Year, Brazil for Carnival and Japan for the cherry blossom festival Sakura.

To find out more about the show, we’ve traveled the Internet for reactions from those who’ve already seen it. Here are a few edited comments from various blogs.

‘ From theboymeetsgirlblog.wordpress.com:

We’ve been attending the Disney On Ice shows for three years now, but this was not just another show. We were very impressed with “Let’s Celebrate.”

We really liked that it was all new ideas and not just “scenes” taken from Disney movies. It just made it a little extra special.

Something that I really liked was that Mickey and Minnie were part of the majority of the show. Our 3-year-old loves Mickey Mouse, and I was happy for him to be able to see him more often. (During the shows where they just come out every so often, he sits there asking, “Where’s Mickey?”)

‘ From northeastohiofamilyfun.com:

it was a fantastic show. The ice skating was impressive, and throughout the performance the characters interacted with the audience, making for a fun experience. The thing we liked most was that so many of our favorite Disney Characters were part of the show.

‘ From mrswebersneighborhood.com:

As for the show, it was really neat. During each scene, Mickey, Minnie and their crew celebrated different holidays from around the world. It went from Halloween (kind of a dark scene with villains – the kids didn’t like this one!) to Valentine’s Day (the clear favorite since it had ALL the princesses) to a Hawaiian luau, the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan, Chinese New Year to Christmas and more. It was so fun trying to guess which holiday would be up next.

‘ From www.mojitomother.com:

I knew that I was enjoying the show when I found myself bopping and singing when [my daughter] wasn’t even sitting next to me.

“Disney On Ice Presents Let’s Celebrate” is all about the party. Mickey and Minnie take you on a journey around the world discovering love and celebration. [In one segment] Minnie sets out to discover what love means, and we learn it through the stories of the Princesses, whose skating routines steal the show.
