BARONS 3, LOOKOUTS 2
Friday’s recap: A two-run seventh inning gave Birmingham a win after three Chattanooga victories, but again the Lookouts got strong starting pitching as Aaron Siegers allowed only three hits and one run with six strikeouts in six innings. Jeremy Dowdy greeted reliever Mike Strong with a walk, Marcus Lemon and Keenyn Walker got bunt singles and the Barons scored on a walk and a sacrifice fly. Chattanooga’s Zach Granite doubled to lead off the game, went to third on a Shannon Wilkerson groundout and scored on Daniel Palka’s sacrifice fly. D.J. Hicks was 2-for-2 and walked twice in defeat, and his walk in the fourth moved Travis Harrison to second, from where he made it 2-1 on Leonardo Reginatto’s single.
Next up: Game five of a five-game series in Birmingham is tonight at 7:30 EDT.
Pitchers: Omar Bencomo (1-2, 3.32 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Blair Walters (2-1, 2.59) scheduled for the Barons.
