Pierce: Chocolate that goes on the face, not the thighs

Hello. My name is Susan and I’m a chocoholic.

You probably thought that during the week before Valentine’s Day I’d be reminding you of all the calories in chocolate. Nope, not today. That would just be too hypocritical from someone who should be in a chocolate 12-step program.

So I’m not going to say anything about the 200 calories in two Godiva truffles. Nope.

I’m not going to bring up that one Starbucks grande hot chocolate has 450 calories. Nor will I point out that if you ate one serving of chocolate a day (which I bet I have come close to) that would add up to 87,360 calories and 5,000 fat grams by the end of that year, according to about.com.

No, I’m going to praise dark chocolate for being a good source of antioxidants.
