The summer blockbuster “Inception” opens today on the giant screen at the Tennessee Aquarium’s Imax Theater, 201 Chestnut St.
The sci-fi action film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a thief skilled in the art of dream extraction. For his latest heist, he and his team of specialists must pull off the reverse, not to steal an idea but to plant one.
“The scope and scale of Imax is perfect for depicting the world of dreams, which is as vast as the imagination,” director Christopher Nolan said in a news release. “By enlarging the canvas of the film, it plunges the audience right into the action, which is something every filmmaker wants.”
This film, presented in 2D, has a running time of 2 hours and 28 minutes and is rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action throughout. Through Sept. 23, showtimes are at 7 p.m. every Sunday through Thursday and at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is $10.95 for adults, $7.95 children 3-12.
