PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Pebble Beach legend Tom Watson has hinted throughout the week that this may be his final U.S. Open.
But he hasn’t closed the door on a return.
“If I were to win the U.S. Senior Open, and that’s my goal, I would play the following year in the U.S. Open, regardless,” Watson said.
That could be this year; it could be next.
Nevertheless, he always will be welcome at Pebble Beach, the site of his historic U.S. Open win in 1982.
