Locals Only owners and husband-and-wife team Danielle and Eric Landrum have opened a second location of their business that showcases local merchandise.

On Wednesday, the second location opened at 10 Frazier Avenue on the North Shore in the former space of Revelator Coffee, which closed its doors in April. Danielle Landrum said the space will feature much of the same merchandise as their location at 1421 Market Street across from the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Grand opening

Locals Only will hold a grand opening on Saturday, March 16 at their new, second location at 10 Frazier Ave. in the North Shore. There will be tastings of local merchandise from 12-2 p.m. and live music. For more information, visit their Facebook page at facebook.com/localsonlychattanooga

“We just thought it has really good visibility, and we really like the older buildings that have a lot of character,” Landrum said about the 1,250-square-foot, North Shore space. “We’ve always wanted to have a location on Frazier.”

The Nautilus Building, a 1940s structure located at the high-profile intersection, was refurbished prior to Revelator moving in as a tenant in a $1.6 million project. After Revelator moved out, Marcus Lyons of Bluestar Properties said the company was looking for a new tenant that fit the North Shore’s atmosphere and neighborhood.

Locals Only originally had a spot in Miller Plaza downtown where Landrum said 98 percent of their customers were local before they moved into their home on Market Street in February 2018 and the numbers flipped to 60-70 percent of their clientele being tourists.

“We are hoping that this location on the North Shore will be able to catch the eyes of more locals over there and tourists, as well,” Landrum said.

The “Home of the Chattanooga gift box” had several of their unique gift boxes filled with local goodies on the front counters of the North Shore space on Thursday, and the old Revelator’s Coffee paint had been washed away and replaced with the Locals Only logo. Hoff Sauce, post cards, bacon jam, candles, local chocolate and olive oil, books and more occupied the bookshelves that lined the walls. Racks of t-shirts could be seen from outside the storefront’s window.

Revelator Coffee moved out of the space in April after more than three years there.

Across North Market Street and the new Locals Only location, a restaurant located in the ground floor of the Bridgeview building closed last fall. Full Moon American Burger and Bar had been open for about 18 months and the space remains vacant still.

With the expansion, the couple hired three new employees bringing the total number of workers to seven, not including the Landrums. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 12-5 p.m. on Sundays with extended hours possible at a later date, Landrum said.

There will be a grand opening for the new Locals Only store on Saturday, March 16 with live music and tastings of some of the products from local businesses from noon to 2 p.m., Landrum said.
