First Things First CEO honored as Manager of the Year

Julie Baumgardner, the president and CEO of the nonprofit, family-advocacy group First Things First, was honored in June as the Chattanooga Area Manager of the Year.

Baumgardner oversees a staff of 11 and more than 500 volunteers who provide marriage, parenting and other programs to help reduce divorces, maintain child support payments and promote parental involvement in children’s lives.

Mayors recognize national service

Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke and Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger joined more than 4,000 mayors, county officials and tribal leaders across the country to participate in the 5th annual Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service on April 4.
