Stop painting police
Whenever there is a random mass shooting, liberal pundits, broadcasters and politicians search desperately in an effort to tie the shooter to tea party or otherwise conservative causes almost always without the least scintilla of cause.
Indeed, when former U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords was shot in Arizona in 2011, the legion of blamers immediately and with certainty began to blame right-wing talk radio and tea party supporters for the act, only to learn the shooter was fascinated with anarchists and left-wing politics.
When two New York City policemen were assassinated Saturday, the punditry did not have to go looking for a motive. The killer, who eventually took his own life, already had supplied it. “I’m putting wings on pigs today,” said Ismaaiyl Brinsley. “They take 1 of ours, let’s take 2 of theirs.”
He was referring, of course, to the Staten Island, N.Y., death in July of Eric Garner while in police custody, an incident in which a grand jury earlier this month did not find the police responsible.
