VILLA HILLS, Ky. – Two small northern Kentucky cities are engaged in a little friendly competition, and the winners will be troops headed for Afghanistan.
The cities of Villa Hills and Crescent Springs are asking residents to buy Girl Scout cookies that will be sent to troops from Alpha Battery of the 1-320th Field Artillery Regiment. The troops are scheduled to go to Afghanistan in June.
Janet Terrell, a liaison for the regiment, says the two cities want to sell at least 250 boxes of cookies for the troops, who are based at Fort Campbell.
The Kentucky Enquirer reports cookies are $3.50 a box and orders are due March 15.
