Carson’s attributes qualify him for top job

Dr. Ben Carson would be good for America as president:

1. Not a politician. A retired neurosurgeon.

2. Gives God the glory for his successes.

3. One of Carson’s professors sent a memo to all of his students to come to a special testing. The test was so hard that all of the students except Carson left the test and said they would say they did not get the memo. When all the other students had left, the professor and the media came in to tell him the test had been a hoax to find out the honesty of the students.

4. In Carson’s first-ever IRS audit, no problems were found.

5. He believes in common sense, such as, for a person or government, do not spend more than you have. And he does not like political correctness.

No IRS charges; what a surprise

I see from the TFP and from TV that the Justice Department will bring no criminal charges for IRS officials in the IRS targeting scandal. This was no surprise! When the attorney general, Eric Holder, was held in contempt of Congress, the deputy AG refused to prosecute Holder. So much for the rule of law.

Now, Obama’s Justice Department has again declined to prosecute any Obama official for criminal activity in his administration for IRS targeting. Whether it’s Fast & Furious, the IRS targeting scandal, Benghazi or any other wrongdoing, Obama will see to it that none in his administration will be held accountable or be prosecuted. And nothing can be done about this corruption because Obama knows he can’t be thrown out of office.

Try these fixes for two problems

Bike lanes? Let ’em use sidewalks, most of which are usually empty in this town. Just require cyclists to make sure pedestrians know they’re there, and get off and walk if safety requires it. Spend tax dollars repairing sidewalks instead of tearing up streets.

Videos of Planned Parenthood laughing over tearing up babies for money? Make Planned Parenthood a checkoff on tax form 1040, like the welfare program for presidential candidates: Tax dollars for Planned Parenthood, yes or no? Better yet, let us keep our money if we say no, and let anyone who wants to give money to Planned Parenthood on Form 1040 send in what they want to give, or reduce their refund.

City motorists thanked for respect

Hats off to kind and thoughtful people of Chattanooga who once again proved what a great place this is to live.

I was recently in a funeral procession from East Ridge to the National Cemetery. Every approaching vehicle stopped in respect as did the vehicles at traffic lights. I was truly impressed at this display of kindness as I am sure the other family members were.

Trump ready for White House? Ha!

I read in the Sunday Times Free Press (page A4) that Trump does not believe Jeb Bush is ready to be president. He might be correct. But what is scarier is that Trump thinks that he is ready!
