Thunder strikes
We were all pretty stoked about the possibility of a 73-win Warriors team and a 67-win Spurs team meeting in the Western Conference finals. It would be epic, right?
Someone forgot to tell the OKC Thunder.
Russell Westbrook’s three-point-play at the rim in the final seconds sealed a 95-91 Game 5 win in San Antonio that put the Thunder up 3-2. The series goes back to Oklahoma City on Thursday, and that place figures to be rocking.
The end was typical Westbrook magic – and typical NBA officiating controversy since the Spurs tried to and did foul him before he drove to the basket but it was not called. The roller coaster ride to the end, though was borderline inexplicable.
