Assemblers Inc., a Chattanooga-based company formed in 1998, recently held a competition among departments to collect non-perishable food items that could be distributed to families in need in several states. Mike Giaccone is the CEO, president and founder of Assemblers, Inc., a merchandise assembly, installation and repair company.

Assemblers collected more than 12,000 items to donate across five states.

In first place: Human Resources/Recruiting with an average of 293 items per team member; second place: Operations with 158 items per team member; third place: In Homes with 148 items per team member.

Operations then made an honorable gesture and bowed out of the competition so the fourth-place (Accounting) team could move up to third place.

There is nothing better than being able to give to others during this difficult time. Happy holidays, everyone.
