Trump’s utterances make him a Bozo
Clarabell the Clown was the mute partner of Howdy Doody; Bozo the Clown was created for a children’s storytelling record album but has come to mean a ridiculous person; Ronald the clown is the primary spokesperson for a hamburger restaurant chain; Donald well, we all know who the Donald is.
Clarabell, Bozo and Ronald made people laugh and although the Donald with his yellow hair, orange face, raccoon mask and small hands is laughable, the things he says and does aren’t funny. Were it not for the gravity of the situation, we would find it hilarious when the Donald said wildfires happen because forest rangers “do not rake leaves” or, despite evidence provided by the CIA that MBS ordered the murder of a Washington Post journalist, “maybe he did, maybe he didn’t.” Or despite the unanimous opinion of U.S. intelligence agencies that Putin interfered with the 2016 election, “he said he didn’t.” Or despite the conclusion of many scientists, climate change is happening, “climate change is a hoax,” etc.
Though we don’t begrudge the Donald his nightly hamburger, we would prefer he take a hint from Clarabell as his utterances too often make him a Bozo.

Could El Chapo get help on new trial?
Well, I see El Chapo is seeking a new trial. In order to save the taxpayers money, perhaps one of the Obamas could write a letter to the district attorney and get the charges dropped and his record wiped clean. And maybe we could keep his bond money.

Trump is ‘crass’ during disasters
I don’t know which is more crass or disrespectful: merrily tossing paper towels as if shooting baskets in the wake of Puerto Rico’s most disastrous hurricane or autographing Bibles like it’s a celebrity book signing in the shadow of 23 killed in an Alabama tornado.

Jordan Peele loses support of fan
I have loved [Keegan-Michael] Key and [Jordan] Peele (of Key & Peele) since they first came on my radar, which is why I am so disappointed in Peele’s claim that he will not cast anyone other than black actors. When I first heard this, I thought, “Aw, that can’t be true?”
But I read it in your paper, so I guess it must be truth. If he truly cares for his art, I hope he retracts that statement and will be an unbiased person. I’ll bet if a white movie producer said the reverse, there would be protests and marches and boycotts, then he or she would be be tarred and feathered and run out of the business.
I won’t support him or any other actor or producer who is so discriminating.
