Berke use of app wrong for city business
I read the Times Free Press article “Chattanooga mayor admits using encrypted messaging app to converse with staff.”
On one hand, I agree that people in office should probably not be using apps that can encrypt text messages when it concerns government issues. On the other hand, I don’t think that Mayor Andy Berke should be put to shame for using it in personal messages. He claims he wasn’t trying to hide anything and said he currently isn’t using the app. I don’t think it’s right for politicians to hide messages from the public, but at the same time, we don’t even know what the supposed encrypted messages were about.

Holt’s reputation damaged by debate
We are very upset with the way that NBC’s Lester Holt moderated the debate Monday night. We have always thought that he was a fair and even-handed journalist. Now we realize that he is just like all of the mainstream media elites. They seem to have the opinion that the “progressive” far left is the correct way of life for all Americans. The big print media in particular was supposed to be the last bastion of the American public’s protection from the very corruption that the establishment is attempting to impose upon us. So, is there no defender except Donald Trump?

In light of the continued nontransparency of state capital politicians with behavior that’s unethical, nefarious and as foul as a porta-potty in August, here’s a simple question and answer for taxpayers to consider.

Keep the Clintons out of White House
Hillary Clinton appears to have health issues that could impair her ability to handle the demanding duties of president. Her decision-making process has not been good, so she resorts to lying and covering up. Hillary has done nothing as secretary of state except travel the world at our expense. When she deleted the thousands of emails, was she covering up illegal pay-to-play details of the Clinton Foundation? Apparently she has much to hide, and we can’t trust her to tell the truth.
Vote against Hillary and keep the Clintons out of Washington. Vote for Donald Trump, who has made a payroll, hired/fired employees and made important decisions.
