Part of Lake Resort Drive in Chattanooga will be closed for about two weeks as a temporary patch is installed to the site of the slide area, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Department of Transportation.
Starting Monday, June 8, work will begin to install the patch that, once completed, will restore two lanes of traffic through the project area. The entire slide area of the road will be closed due to the excavation and need to use both lanes for the repairs, the release states.
Detours will be posted, and the paving of Lake Resort Drive from Lake Resort Terrace to Northshore Drive will continue after the slide area repairs are finished.
The City of Chattanooga is currently pursuing federal funding through the Federal Highway Administration Emergency Relief Program in order to make a permanent repair to the roadway, which is expected to start by April 2021, according to the release.
Drivers can see CDOT’s map of road closures for details of projects in public spaces.
