Chattanooga police responded Monday evening to a multiple shooting on the 6000 block of Arlena Circle.

Three people were shot, Chattanooga Police Sgt. Crider said.

Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, he said.

The victims were three adult men: Willie Birdsong, 39, Delta Tucker, 52, and Michael Weaver, 47. They were transported to a local hospital.

The victims reported they were in a driveway when they were shot by someone in a passing vehicle. No suspect information was provided.

A neighbor, who did not want to be identified for fear of retaliation and to protect his children, said his two children heard several shots and described them as sounding like firecrackers.

Another neighbor, Ron Roth, said he heard about 10 or more shots. He, too, described them as sounding like fireworks.

Both neighbors said an incident like this is rather unusual for their neighborhood, although they both noted an incident in July when two men were found shot to death in the Highland Memorial Gardens cemetery nearby.

A man was shot during a home invasion and robbery on the same block on May 24.
