SecureWaters wins IBM contest

IBM has named Chattanooga-based SecureWaters as winner of a start-up company competition in Austin, Texas.

The company was selected from 150 others with technologies in areas ranging from health care to water management.

SecureWaters manufacturers an early warning monitor that detects toxins in bodies of water and can instantly report results to authorities.

The SmartCamp competition recognizes achievement and rewards winners with an hour per week of mentoring, according to IBM.

SecureWaters will also receive free membership services and office space at the Austin Technology Incubator for six months.
