This weekend, Feb. 27-28, Tyner United Methodist Church members are inviting the public to the showing of their musical, “Experiencing God.”

The play is being performed in conjunction with a 12-week study with the same name which the church just completed, said Lou Harrison, choir member and wife of Tyner Pastor Charlie Harrison.

The musical, which is a worship experience focused on knowing the will of God, features the church choir, an orchestra and a children’s choir, said church member Carolyn Alexander. It is free to attend.

A recent widow, Alexander said she personally was helped by the pastor’s sermons which previewed the works discussed in the upcoming musical.

“I really identified with the sermon, and I feel it will enrich my faith, and others’ to attend the play,” she said.

“I believe that through this musical, people will experience God and have their lives transformed forever. We have been praying for everyone who will attend,” added Pastor Harrison.

Showtimes are Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the Wesley Fellowship Hall of Tyner United Methodist Church. The church is located at 6805 Standifer Gap Road.
