Pedal to the metal

On paper, the 2015 Calhoun Yellow Jackets are possibly one of the top teams in Georgia in any classification.

The offense is experienced and talented, the defense is among the most athletic in program history and the coaching is elite. A program that’s won 95 consecutive region games and has a 14-year streak of winning at least 10 games is poised again to make some postseason noise after winning the Class AAA state title in 2014.

Hal Lamb sees the talent, but he also sees a major void left by one of the most unheralded senior groups he has coached. Gone are Austin Bennett, Will Conley, Tristan Fuller and Thomas Lester, all defensive stars.

It’s not their combined 500 tackles Lamb misses most.
