The 31st edition of Christmas at the Courthouse continues this week and next at the Hamilton County Courthouse, 625 Georgia Ave.

Starting at 11:30 a.m. each weekday, student ensembles from local elementary, middle and high schools entertain courthouse workers and lunchtime passers-by with seasonal selections. As is tradition, the two-week series culminates with a performance by the Orange Grove Center Singers.

Also each day, different groups of elected officials – judges, commissioners, etc. – attend as special guests.

Already this week, four groups have performed. Tuesday, Dec. 1, featured the Rivermont Elementary School Chorus, directed by Phyllis Finney, and the Loftis Middle School Choir, directed by Carrie Brock.

Wednesday, Dec. 2, spotlighted the North Hamilton County Elementary School Chorus, directed by Clifta Hixson, and the Center for Creative Arts’ Women’s Ensemble, directed by Neshawn Calloway.

Here’s how the rest of the schedule unfolds.

Today, Dec. 3: Ooltewah High School Choir, directed by Jon Miller, and Alpine Crest Tiger Pride Chorus, directed by Leah Carroll.

Friday, Dec. 4: East Ridge High School Singers, directed by Tausha Plate, and East Ridge Middle School Singers, directed by Letha Jolley.

Monday, Dec. 7: Central High School Chorus, directed by Martha Boutwell, and Ganns-Middle Valley Elementary School Chorus, directed by Jeffrey McKnight.

Tuesday, Dec. 8: East Hamilton High School Chorus, directed by Lucynda Holmes, and Hixson Elementary School Chorus, directed by Heather Holt.
