A 57-year-old man has died after being hit by a vehicle on the 100 block of West M.L. King Boulevard Thursday morning, according to a release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Investigators determined the incident happened around 8:15 a.m., when the victim was crossing south on M.L. King Boulevard, and a Jaguar was traveling east on the same block.
The Jaguar struck the pedestrian, who entered the street “against the walk signal and did not have the right of way,” the news release said.
Emergency services transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information about the incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip through the CPD mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
