High school sweethearts David E. and Wanda Ward Martin celebrated their 50th anniversary on Feb. 25 with a family dinner given by their daughter Vicky Caughman, their son Rick Martin and their grandsons Tyler and Christopher Martin. As a gift, the couple was given a surprise trip with tickets for shows, sights and restaurants for three days in Atlanta, Ga., three days in South Carolina and four days in the Smokey Mountains and Pigeon Forge. The present also included a trip to Daytona Beach this summer.

Tom and Joyce McCloud celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with family and close friends on April 9 at the Acropolis restaurant. Married on March 31, 1961, at the former Avondale Baptist Church, the couple has two children and two grandchildren.
