An independent auditor’s report of the Carter Street Corp. by Johnson, Hickey & Murchison showed no deficiencies in internal controls and no violations.
The report for fiscal year ending June 30 gave the highest level of assurance allowed to be issued by independent auditors, said Steve Keown of Johnson, Hickey & Murchison, at Carter Street’s monthly meeting Wednesday.
After findings in 2009 of issues with controls over purchasing and procurement and compliance with state laws and regulations, the firm extended its testing further into the corporation’s larger expenditures this year, but Keown said 100 percent were noted properly.
Also at the meeting, the organization’s executive director, Mike Shuford, stated that September was “a great month” for the Chattanooga Convention Center, which hosted 47 events and brought in $2.5 million in estimated economic impact to the city.
