The UTC Cadek Orchestra’s fall concert, set for Sunday, Nov. 13, will double as the debut performance for new conductor Sandy Morris.

The 50-member college/community orchestra includes music majors and non-majors from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Chattanooga State Community College, as well as UTC music faculty members, area music educators and other amateur and professional musicians from the region.

Morris says the concert will include the much-loved Romantic period pieces Academic Festival Overture by Johannes Brahms, Carmen Suite No. 2 by Georges Bizet and Slavonic Dances No. 6 and 8, Op. 46, by Antonín Dvoák.

Morris has conducted numerous orchestras, bands and choirs in the area. She also is conductor of the CSO Youth Philharmonic and the Signal Mountain Playhouse Orchestra and is music director of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

The free concert will start at 3 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the UTC Fine Arts Building, 752 Vine St.
