KNOXVILLE – At 238 pounds, Willie Bohannon is smaller than several Southeastern Conference linebackers.
But he’s not even a linebacker. He’s a third-year sophomore defensive end at Tennessee.
It’s anything but a surprise that Bohannon focuses on his speed and technique.
“You know, I just look at it like that’s what they look at me as, and I just go out there and play,” Bohannon said after the Volunteers’ Thursday practice. “Whatever they label me is whatever they label me, but I know what I need to do to do the right things.”
Head coach Derek Dooley and defensive line coach Chuck Smith consistently have complimented him throughout preseason camp.
