Bus stop requests

To request a bus stop for students of Hamilton County public schools, visit hcde.org and click on “Bus Transportation” under the Department tab. (This is not necessary if your child already has a bus stop.)

Though students are still enjoying their summer break, preparation is already underway for schools to begin in August. To make sure parents are prepared, here is everything they need to know to navigate the registration process.

Hamilton County

For families residing in Hamilton County, online registration – being offered for the first time this year – may very well be a time- and sanity-saver. Both new and returning students can take advantage of the new online registration option available starting July 11.

To begin, visit hcde.org/parents/online_registration and select either “new students” on the left-hand menu, or “returning students registration” in the main window. Parents will be guided through a step-by-step process to get their children registered and given a complete list of registration documents the schools will need, where applicable. Enter the snap code provided by the school for returning students. For new students – or if you misplaced your code – email mcdarmont_s@hcde.org.

Registration day for students is Friday, Aug. 3.

  • Current immunization form (Georgia 3231 form)
  • Certificate of vision, hearing, dental and nutrition screening (Georgia 3300 form) for students entering pre-K, kindergarten and first grade

  • Legal guardianship or custody papers, when applicable
