The board of Miller Industries Inc., which had been an 5-member, all-male board, announced Monday it has elected two women directors.
Leigh Walton, a partner at the law firm of Bass, Berry & Sims PLC, and Deborah Whitmire, Miller Industries executive vice president and chief financial officer, are joining the board this month as additional members. With Walton’s election, Miller’s board has been expanded to include four independent directors, along with three Company executives. Walton will also serve as a member of the board’s audit, compensation and nominating Committees.
William Miller, the executive chairman of the board, said Walton “brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience” to the board and he praised Whitmire for providing “invaluable expertise and leadership” to the Ooltewah-based tow truck manufacturer.
