What heat?

Zack Granite drove in two runs, Daniel Palka hit another home run and Stephen Gonsalves picked up the pitching win in his Double-A debut as the Chattanooga Lookouts downed Jackson 5-3 Saturday night at AT&T Field. The Lookouts improved to 2-1 in the Southern League’s second half and 38-35 overall by winning for the 19th time in their last 28 games.

Temperature at first pitch Saturday was 95 degrees.

“It’s definitely hot,” said Granite, who hails from New York. “I played last year in Fort Myers (Fla.) in July and August, and hopefully I can adapt to this pretty quickly, but it can get really hot in New York, too.

“We had a beautiful first half here. The weather was unbelievable.”
