Alec McKenzie got fed up, and it didn’t take long.

“We hit Greenback, and the week after that we decided enough was enough,” the Meigs County lineman said.

In last season’s second week, Greenback thumped Meigs County 42-7, dropping the Tigers to 0-2 and extending a winless streak that reached five games dating back to 2013 – a year before Jason Fitzgerald arrived as head coach.

“We were a team that didn’t know how to win,” McKenzie said. “They (the new coaching staff) walk in and we go to the playoffs. Talk about a complete turnaround.”
