Antonio George, a suspect in the Nov. 23 shooting death of a 36-year-old Cleveland, Tenn., man at a Georgetown Road home, turned himself in at the Bradley County Jail on Monday morning, Sheriff Eric Watson stated in a news release.

George had been sought on a second-degree murder charge in the death of Aaron “Josh” Davis.

Davis initially was found on Nov. 23 after a vehicle flagged down a Bradley County deputy at the intersection of 25th Street and Peerless Road. The driver told the officer the injured Davis was inside the car.

Davis then was taken to SkyRidge Medical Center. A lockdown was triggered there after the deputy and other people followed the car carrying the victim to the hospital. Cleveland police charged one person at the hospital with disturbing the peace in connection with events there.

Later Davis was flown to Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga where he died, authorities said.

On Monday, family members accompanied suspect Antonio George as he turned himself in, and he was booked into the jail.

Watson thanked George’s family for helping authorities to safely place him into custody.
