The damage from a house fire that was caused by a child playing with a lighter has been assessed at $45,000, according to a news release.
Chattanooga fire fighters responded to a house fire at 7501 Pinewood Drive at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday night.
The fire was quickly brought under control and a fire investigator was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
One resident was treated for minor burns at the scene by Hamilton County EMS.
