The paper signs taped to the coaches’ offices Sunday afternoon tell the story of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team’s season so far. Printed on the paper is one word: “FINISH!”
On Saturday night at JSU Stadium, the Mocs lost their second consecutive fourth-quarter lead to a Top 10 team. Sixth-ranked Jacksonville State scored 14 unanswered points in the final period to beat UTC 21-17.
“I can’t describe how I’m feeling, really,” defensive end Chris Donald, who made 12 tackles, said afterward. “It’s a bad feeling.”
The Mocs (0-2) forced four first-half turnovers and led 17-0 early in the third quarter before, just like in the opener against No. 3 Appalachian State, things were awry at the end.
