Camille Engel, Brent Funderbunk and Emily Reason celebrate the beauty of nature and form. “New Spin,” an exhibition showcasing their work, opens Monday at River Gallery.
Ms. Engel uses oils to render the detail and color of each object. She strives to capture a moment in time that depicts what she calls “the beauty of creation.”
Mr. Funderbunk combines watercolor and acrylic to put a “new spin” on his reflections of nature. Ms. Reason, a ceramic artist, makes functional pottery on the wheel. Inspired by Chinese art and nature, she creates elegant, provocative and classic forms with visual and tactile beauty.
“New Spin” continues through Feb. 28. A reception will be held Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. (snow date: Saturday, 2-4 p.m.).
River Gallery, corner of Bluff View and High streets, is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday and by appointment. Call 265-5033.
