Celebration allows town to be itself
I discovered one of the best kept secrets in the Chattanooga area this week.
It was in the small town of Decatur, Tenn., on the town square.
I witnessed a piece of Americana from the ’50s. There was a Christmas parade made up of floats from area chambers, Scout troops, and princesses and queens from Meigs County High School.
On the courthouse lawn was a live Nativity scene. After the parade, we were invited into the courthouse for refreshments and Christmas music. The open house was hosted by the courthouse clerks.
With so much political correctness in our society, it was refreshing to see a community freely being itself at the most wonderful time of the year.

Obama aiming to dissolve rights
“No religious items (i.e. Bibles, reading material, and/or artifacts) are allowed to be given away or used during a visit.” This was the policy enacted recently at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Thankfully a congressman from Iowa denounced it and the military rescinded this outrageous policy.
The congressman called on President Obama to denounce this order. As of today, as usual our president is silent on guaranteed constitutional rights. This is just the sort of thing that started in Nazi Germany with the brown shirts.
With websites launched by this president like “Attackwatch.com” and the above-mentioned policy, it is no wonder our country is spiraling downward. Instead of focusing on the economy and putting Americans back to work, this administration’s policies are aimed at dissolving our constitutional rights.

Vibrations bother Frost Creek resident
I have lived in the Frost Creek Farms Subdivision for over 16 years. About two years ago, I began experiencing nightly ground vibrations that cause my whole house to vibrate.
These vibrations occur every night, 365 days a year.
Needless to say, it is very nerve-wracking to be awakened every night by this problem. I have made numerous contacts in my efforts to determine the cause of problem, all to no avail.
If anyone in this area near the East Hamilton High School knows of this problem or what might be causing it, I wish they would contact me at fcfvibrations@comcast.net
