NASHVILLE — Vanderbilt center A.J. Ogilvy practices the shot every day. It’s kind of a running hook. It’s all but automatic.
“I’m real confident in it,” he said early Saturday evening inside the Commodores’ storied Memorial Gym. “I probably hit it eight out of 10 times.”
Then the big junior from Australia paused, his eyes still red from brief tears, his voice softened by sadness.
“Unfortunately, today was one of the two I miss.”
The shot he missed at the horn left Kentucky all alone atop the Southeastern Conference following the Wildcats’ 58-56 victory.
