Greetings, outdoorspeople!
- Weekend forecast: Saturday; high 92, hot with scattered storms/ Sunday, high 87, scattered showers and storms
- Recommended adventure: Teach your kids to ride bikes, use signals and learn the rules of the road this Saturday, July 31, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the First Horizon Pavilion across from Finley Stadium. The Chattanooga Bike Rodeo and Safety Town is a free event for all ages. Following the hour-long course, participants can practice their new skills in a small kid-sized city built by volunteers. Or, the more adventurous can work on advanced skills – popping a wheelie, for instance. Kids will need to bring a helmet, bike and closed-toe shoes. - Most interesting thing we recently learned: A new partnership hopes to bring electric vehicle charging stations to all 56 Tennessee state parks. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation is working with the automaker and automotive technology company Rivian to install the stations, depending on the availability of electricity at each park. Site surveys begin this summer, with installation beginning as early as this fall. Read more here.
