Everything possible with God’s backing
Have you ever heard the old saying “prayer changes things”?
Christians, if you are concerned about and cherish the United States as I do, be sure and pray often for the United States and the people in it.
Pray that the people in America will humble themselves and turn to God.
Remember what several Bible scriptures such as Mark 10:27 say: “With men it is impossible but not with God, with God all things are possible.”

Adopt, don’t shop, for your pets
A recent article on how to buy a puppy was informative, but I object to the title.
Buying dogs, when many organizations struggle to find homes for unwanted stray puppies, is a bad practice. Buying a dog encourages breeding, and more dogs is the last thing planet Earth needs!
Plus, many people buy pets because of a fascination with certain breeds and the envy that may come their way. A “cool” pet often suffers neglect.
Adopting a pet is truly compassionate in today’s world, which overflows with loving dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and snakes.
Thousands of pets await homes, yet we allow breeding of more. Insane!
Please be a part of the solution to reduce the numbers of pet births. Adopt – don’t shop!
And have your pets spayed or neutered. (Note: Adoption is not free. But your fee is repayment for funds spent on vet care to ensure a healthy and nonbreeding animal). Thanks!

Assessor candidate deceiving seniors
Time after time, Democrats use fear-mongering and deception to create angst among voters in hopes of winning an election in Hamilton County.
This year, the local Democratic Party and its assessor of property candidate are using the same playbook by pushing a senior tax freeze as a key issue in the assessor’s race.
Let’s be honest and up front with the voters. The assessor of property is an executive position in county government that has no authority to change or lower our taxes. This is fact.
Yet, the candidate’s actions are giving seniors a false impression that he can and will lower their taxes.
Voters want to hear what you can do for this important office rather than what you cannot do as assessor of property.
For this and other reasons, I will vote for Marty Haynes on Election Day.
