Living and Giving: A gift of kindness brings joy to brighten a holiday

Good Deed
Good Deed Good Deed

This past Valentine’s Day was my first one without my husband, Bill, who died last year. Words cannot express the sadness and loneliness I felt. But then I received a gift of a dozen red roses!

My brother-in-law, Kenny Rogers, who had been Bill’s best friend, had bought flowers for my sister but he didn’t stop there. Knowing what Bill would have done had he still been with us, Kenny included a dozen roses for me, a simple reminder of a friendship enjoyed by him and Bill.

He brought a ray of sunshine into my day, and I am so thankful and touched by this deed of kindness. Thanks, Kenny, from the bottom of my heart!
