Chattanooga’s smart grid and EPB system control operators restored power within about a half an hour Sunday night to more than 25,000 homes and businesses from Hixson to Sale Creek and Graysville.
A preliminary investigation shows the loss of power was the result of a failure with TVA’s equipment that supplies power to two EPB substations. EPB system control operators and Chattanooga’s smart grid quickly re-established power supply to the affected area.
