Crafts ranging from woodworking to vinyl designs to alcohol ink paintings will be featured during the Bakewell Spring Fling Craft Sale, set for 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Bakewell Community Center, 114 McCallie Ferry Road just off Highway 27.
All setup fees for vendors will be donated to the upkeep of the center, which community officials say is the last of the original seven Hamilton County schools that still stands.
Bakewell School opened in 1910 and closed in 1962. The community bought the building and land in 1963.
Today, it is used for weddings, birthday parties and other social events, as well as music performances the first Friday of each month.
