The two people killed Saturday on Interstate 59 near Trenton, Ga., have been identified as Michelle R. Fletes, 27, and Raul Alberto Fletes, 28, of Rossville.

The couple’s 3-year-old daughter should be released from the hospital to family members soon, said Cpl. Andrew Gideon of the Georgia State Patrol.

Authorities said Michelle Fletes was driving a 2010 Dodge Charger north on I-59 around 2 p.m. Saturday. A witness told WRCB-TV 3 the Dodge hit the back of a tractor-trailer.

Authorities are investigating the incident, though they do not believe at this time that drugs or alcohol were involved, Gideon said.
