It wasn’t easy, and it took some extra effort and extra time, since we are in a period of economic recession. But now, thousands of generous Chattanooga-area people and company contributors have assured that $11,635,723 worth of “good” is going to be done for the people of this area through success in our United Way campaign.
Campaign Chairman Bill Wilder, outgoing board chairman Tom Edd Wilson and scores of United Way volunteer workers have made the necessary extra efforts to assure success once more.
It’s because our whole community understands how important our United Way is in providing direct services to many thousands of children and many thousands of adults through the wide variety of community agencies that United Way givers finance.
We should give thanks to all United Way contributors, to Mr. Wilder and to all of his many volunteer team members.
They have done a great deal to continue to make this a wonderful community that cares for and serves our people.
