A man and woman were arrested Saturday on drug charges after Hamilton County narcotics officers found them with meth-making materials at the Motel 6 at 7702 Lee Highway, authorities said.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson said in a news release that officers acting on a tip watched two people enter a motel room carrying bags.
The officers spoke to the two and determined they were carrying components used to make the drug, Atkinson said.
Johnny Burns, 42, of East Ridge, and Sandra Gasaway, 40, of Ringgold, Ga., were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. They were taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
